Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Macrotome ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and dashboard (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian Privacy Act 1988, where applicable.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, and any name you provide when creating an account.

Payment information: when you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not directly collect or store your credit card details — Stripe handles this in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.

Usage data: we use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregated information about page views, general geographic region, device type, and referral source. This data does not personally identify you and does not use tracking cookies.

Communications: if you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence to respond to your request.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: provide and maintain the Service; process subscription payments; communicate with you about your account or support requests; improve the Service based on aggregated usage patterns; comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third-party providers to operate Macrotome. Each processes data under their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database hosting and authentication (data stored in Australia, ap-southeast-2 region)

Vercel — website hosting and analytics

Stripe — payment processing

Resend — transactional email delivery

Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-generated market analysis and report content

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; request a copy of your data in a portable format; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at macrotomefx@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days.

7. Cookies

The Service uses minimal, privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) that does not rely on tracking cookies or cross-site identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable third-party infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure is primarily hosted in Australia (Supabase ap-southeast-2). If you access the Service from outside Australia, your information may be transferred to and processed in Australia and other countries where our service providers operate (including the United States, for Stripe, Resend, and Anthropic).

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
